Stray Rescue Kit
(In Memory of Mochi)-
Packaging project, Adobe Illustrator
(AD 318B)
The Stray Rescue Kit (In Memory of Mochi) is a packaging project that is a practical kit for the user. I used Adobe Illustrator because it was the most practical, as vectors are scalable and make the printing and production process simple. This piece was inspired by, and in honor of, my cat Mochi. Mochi came to the shelter as a stray and was so loving and sweet. I wanted to create a kit that could help other strays get a loving home like Mochi did. This piece was made to be very practical and something that could be sold and used in everyday life. I took inspiration from Jessica Walsh and her high saturation designs, as they draw a lot of attention from the viewer. This project uses green and pink as the main accent colors because Mochi’s eyes were green and her favorite toy was pink. It also uses her fur colors for the main packaging, as well as includes the slogans “Here Kitty Kitty” and “Making friends, Saving Lives” to make them feel welcoming and fun. I want the viewer to be inspired to help save cats and give them the loving homes they deserve.
